Trip to Mudaliarkuppam-12.08.07

Mudaliarkuppam is 90 kms from MBC on the ECR
has an excellent inland lagoon
decent water depth and is protected with trees on the sides for most part of the coourse
was told by the boat men that a straight stretch of close 2.5kms is there
I also feel > 2kms is possible in this place with 4 lanes
distance from chennai is the only damper
It is closer to Pondy - being just 60kms away
maybe we can think of staying in pondy and consider this venue for a race in future

hi all
I discovered this blog site created by someone with an apt objective last night in the course of my wanderings on the www.
I feel that this is exactly the need of the hour for the club...to air our views fearlessly and constructively for common good of the club. This looks like a ready made platform for discussion
As I see it our "MBC" is at the cross roads now. major issues have cropped up which needs attention.
Registration of the club, Lawn Member voting rights, LTTM memberships under scrutiny, Out of turn memberships to favoured friends of the committee, the famous water wars and the water mafia at their job again....sabotaging and crippling the swimming pool, unimaginable interpretation of the rules by the committee to suit their decision making process, wrongful use of position and benefiting monetarily by wrongful declarations and collusion by some committee members all gone unnoticed and unanswered in past years...now brought to light...
Never heard of issues from various senior persons on several vital issues have been raised which is concerning you and I.
A sepulchere deafening silence is the response from the committee on almost all issues.
There seems to be an atrophied rigor mortis exhibited by the club administration when it comes to positive action.
The swimming pool is a classic example. A problem has come up. Unclean water in the pool. Chitra kulam in mylapore is better now. The simple logical step is to clean up the goddamn pool with your own resources first. If this does not work out call in the experts and finish the job. Instead of doing this all seem to be sitting on it and ruminating and waiting for a god send solution.
So I was dreaming and wondering why put some ones good 'industry' to waste ?...so why not we better start using this site and debate on the various happenings of our club and its future and how we can all contribute to its stability and growth and maybe use this site like a 'shadow cabinet' to give ideas to the club admin to help them in their decision making process...
just follow this link as I did and u will get there.....or copy and paste it on a new browser window and get there..and start writing...
happy blogging....

MBC Rowing
This blog has been created to constructively talk about rowing related topics of the Madras Boat club and the politics behind all the developments there.
